Mission and Organizational Information
“LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN COME TO ME; DO NOT STOP THEM; FOR IT IS TO SUCH AS THESE THAT THE KINGDOM OF GOD BELONGS.” (Mark 10:14)
Our goal is to establish an organization within our parish to assist and lead our young people into a living and active relationship with Jesus Christ. This is the age which we want to form the foundation of good faith. This foundation will help guide and provide the strength that our young people will need as they start to progress into Junior High and High School. We must continue to develop good personal relationships within the group and actively participate in activities that will strengthen their relationship with God, as well as, providing assistance within our community.
This mission is accomplished by providing our youth with a variety of Orthodox centered activities that they percieve as being fun and religiously and socially interesting. Parental support, encouragement, and involvement is essential l for JOY to succeed. We must remember, that the family is the greatest influence on the Orthodox faith development of a child. All boys and girls ages in the parish ages, 8 through 12 (3rd through 6th grade)are invited to partipate in the wholesome fun, inspirational and character building activites of JOY.
