Nativity '07 Reflections

My beloved members of Annunciation,

The Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ heralds the beginning of the new chapter in the story of mankind, and His birth transformed the course of history. Beginning with the consent His blessed mother, the Ever-Virgin Mary, Gad began the course of events to intervene in man’s ultimate destiny with the Incarnation of His Son, paving the way for the salvation of our souls. A miraculous birth and event exhibiting God’s Fatherly love as He sent his only-begotten Son to accomplish His plan of salvation and redemption.

Unfortunately, in today’s secular world, this message has become a “second thought” or worse, totally neglected. Instead of quietly praying and contemplating the miracle of Christ’s birth, we increase the rate of our secular activities with parties, shopping and of course the “politically correct” greeting, “Happy Holidays”. Our children have their Christmas list ready, but have difficulties recounting and praying the event of the birth of their God and Savior. Understanding that God became man so we might attain eternal life, and eternal life is gained by our faith and devotion to Christ, our Savior who was born this day in Bethlehem.

Therefore, let us propel ourselves to more lofty thoughts than worldly or secular. Let us come together, all nations, all people, and all families. And all individuals and worship Him, who was born to save our souls. Let us greet this glorious and joyous season with “Happy Holy Days”, Blessed Christmas, Christ is Born, glorify Him!

It is my fervent prayer that you and your loved ones will understand, appreciate, and enjoy the bountiful good gifts of the Almighty God, and that His message of peace and goodwill will abide in your hearts and homes throughout the New Year.
